I build a temple
wherever songs are sung
wherever bagels are eaten
wherever I should wear a sweater
wherever candles are lit
wherever the sun sets
wherever one is remembered
wherever the Sabbath stops work
wherever potatoes dare to fry
wherever a sea is crossed
wherever hate is scribbled on a wall
wherever this ancient chain continues
No one tears it down.
