Tip the Poet
My friend, the poet and musician Matthew Mars, once said if you ever make money from poetry, buy food with it. This has been my mantra whenever I’ve made a few dollars from the tip hat at a reading, or if I was lucky enough to have someone buy one of my books. It means a lot, as an artist, to be able to sustain myself even in a small way from having created art. Thank you in advance for helping to feed the poet.
