Our praise to You, Eternal our God, Sovereign of all: for giving us life, sustaining us, and enabling us to reach this season.

The thing about beginnings is they come
after the pain of an ending.

You may not have fully healed from it.
You’ve arrived at this season raw and ready

You’re grateful and have your eyes on forward
and just need to drag that last foot

out of the past. Out of the way it was
into the way it will be.

This first time. This together.
This crisp and cold apple.

You’ll bite and bite until the core.
This too will end and those seeds

will fuel the beginnings you
can’t imagine yet.

Here we are at the new.
Thank You for this uncertainty

for this ability to go on.
Let’s go on!
